Come join your BRMC friends for their 2nd annual trip to the Kennedy Center for another great evening of Christmas entertainment. As the nation's performing arts center and a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy, the Kennedy Center welcomes three million visitors annually. Set on 17 acres overlooking the Potomac, this striking $73 million facility (in 1960's dollars), designed by noted architect Edward Durell Stone, houses an opera house, a concert hall and two stage theaters. Combine the Kennedy Center's elegant atmosphere with a fantastic Holiday Concert and this is one Christmas tour you will not want to miss!
Upon arriving in Washington, we will first travel to the Kennedy Center for a private guided tour. The tour highlights the historic events that led up to the establishment of a national cultural center, as well as an interactive exhibit on the life and presidency of John F. Kennedy. The tour also includes the majestic Hall of States, Hall of Nations and five of the Center's main theaters, including its' three grand performance halls (the Concert Hall, Opera House and Eisenhower Theater). The tour concludes with a breathtaking 360-degree view of the nation's capital from the Center's Roof Terrace.
Following our tour is a short drive to Carmine's Restaurant, famous for offering the finest in Southern Italian cuisine. Our meal will consist of several appetizers, pastas, dessert and Veal Parmigiana as our main course.
Then it's back to the Kennedy Center for "Happy Holidays!" concert. Marvin Hamlisch, and a colorful assortment of lively performers, present a program of such festive songs and time-honored classics as "O Holy Night," "Sleigh Ride," "White Christmas," and much more. Capture the spirit of the season with this uplifting and joyous holiday concert.
Our tour includes round-trip motor-coach transportation, reserved orchestra seating tickets for "Happy Holidays", dinner at Carmine's, tax and gratuity, refreshments aboard the motorcoach and driver gratuity. The all-inclusive price is $146.00 per person. Reservations will be accepted on a first paid basis. Please note that we have only 50 seats available and payments must be received no later than Monday, November 8. Sorry, we cannot refund a paid reservation. Proper attire is requested including sport coats for gentlemen. We will meet and depart from Market Square at 1:30 pm and the estimated return time is midnight.
