Visit Virginia Capitol and ROMEO Dinner

Posted January 6, 2015 at 5:09 PM

"This building is beyond comparison, the finest, the most noble and the greatest in all America." This was expressed by a French visitor in year 1796. This is still true to this day.

In the year 1785, Thomas Jefferson, one of our founding father, designed this magnificent structure. He was inspired by the building ‘Maison Carrée de Nimes’ and based it on classical Roman temple design.

The Virginia State Capitol introduced the classical revival temple style to the modern world. This design concept has been carried on by many state capital and public buildings all thru USA.

Our guest speaker Mark Greenough, director of the this building has agreed to give BRMC a personal tour on March 12, 2015 at 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

There is plenty of paid parking available around the capital building. Main entrance is located on the Bank St.

After the Capitol tour, members who want join other BRMC MEMBERS for the dinner should proceed to THE ROOSEVELT restaurant located 623 N.25th st in Church Hill neighborhood. There is ample of parking behind the building. This gem is designated as one of the top restaurants in Richmond. This place has limited seating of 36 seats and they have agreed to give us only 20 seats for early bird at 6:00pm.
