The guest for our May meeting was Chris Accashian, CEO of St. Francis Medical Center to discuss the major capital expenditures at St. Francis.

Chris AccashianAs a Planning Analyst with Bon Secours Richmond in 1998-2000, while pursuing his Master’s in Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University, Chris Accashian worked on the development of the Certificate of Public Need that led to the building of Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center. Today, he serves as its President, with responsibility for daily operations of the 130-bed acute-care facility, and leadership of more than 900 employees.

Prior to taking the helm at St. Francis, Chris held positions of increasing responsibility with Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), most recently as CEO of Parkland Medical Center in Derry, New Hampshire.

Chris also serves as CEO of Bon Secours Rappahannock Hospital in Kilmarnock Virginia and is the lead executive overseeing all Imaging and Radiation Oncology services for Bon Secours Richmond.

Chris grew up in Midlothian, Virginia within just a few miles of St. Francis. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Virginia and earned his Master’s in Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2001. Chris is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and currently serves as a Board member for the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association (VHHA) as well as Leadership Metro Richmond. In his free time, he enjoys golf, reading, travel, and spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, son, James, and daughter, Lucy.
